You’re already building a personal brand, so you might as well be intentional about it.
Let’s clear something up right from the start:
Every single day you wake up and interact with the world you are molding your personal brand, whether you realize it or not.
Every post you share, every text you send, every interaction you have online or in person builds the perception of who you are. Personal branding isn’t some fancy concept reserved for people who want to be famous.
It’s not about creating a robotic or fake persona, posing in front of Lambos, and it’s definitely not about pretending to be someone else.
Instead, it’s about getting crystal clear about who you really are, what you care about, and why anyone should pay attention. It’s about being intentional with how you show up in the world.
Here’s the reality:
People don’t follow niches - they follow real, relatable humans who speak clearly and are on a mission. They follow people with a recognizable voice, values they resonate with, and someone who consistently shows up.
So let’s stop making branding complicated, we are all building one daily.
Here’s your roadmap to build one intentionally, in a few simple steps.
Values: Know Yourself
Your values are your brand’s magnetic field. It’s your alignment with your audience, and how your message will resonate with them.
Ask yourself these questions honestly:
What do I genuinely believe in?
What advice do I love giving so much I’d do it for free?
What ideas or topics give me energy instead of draining it?
Side note: ask your favorite AI model what it is you won’t shut up about, this worked for me.
It’s important not to quickly pass over these. Your values form the emotional foundation of your brand. When you share content grounded in your real beliefs, people can’t help but feel the energy.
Voice: Write Like You Talk
Forget trying to sound smart, this is always a dumb approach. Your brand should sound like You. Write the way you speak. If you’re sarcastic, lean in. If you’re naturally encouraging, don’t force yourself to sound edgy.
You see, in the age of AI, authenticity is no longer optional, it’s foundational. Your unique voice will become your most identifiable trait.
The easiest way to write like you speak? (Drum Roll…)
Read what you wrote out loud to yourself.
Does it feel forced when you say it? If so, give it a rewrite while speaking the words. Yes, it may sound strange but this will work every single time.
Visuals: Align Your Look with Your Energy
Visual branding doesn’t have to be complicated, but it does have to be consistent. Your profile picture, your banner, your color(s), etc. should all be cohesive and reflect a personality style.
Don’t get stuck here though, visuals will evolve as you do. My first profile picture was a selfie I took in my bathroom. It didn’t matter.
People connected to my energy first, and eventually I upgraded my picture over time. Just get something good enough, and then move forward.
Your brand’s visuals will most likely evolve as you do.
Volume: Show Up Relentlessly
I started about 6 months ago, and a lot of creators I started with are no longer around. Most people fail because they quit too early. They post for a month, don’t see any “engagement” and then stop.
They look for shortcuts and hacks instead of being consistent.
Forget the perfect timing. Forget the “gurus” saying when you should post. Just keep showing up. Post when you’re inspired, and post when you’re not.
Your commitment is more powerful than your timing.
Consistency will build trust. Trust build momentum. Momentum creates leverage.
Your Brand Is Your Distribution Engine
Personal branding isn’t a destination you ever fully reach. It’s a continual practice of self-discovery, expression, and evolution.
It’s about playing the game, simply for the love of playing. It’s about the moment people see your name and instantly know exactly what they’re getting.
That kind of clarity creates leverage.
That kind of clarity builds trust.
And that trust turns ordinary creators into thriving businesses.
P.S. I am helping a few creators build out their personal brand structure to help with the following:
Audience growth
Unique Voice
Authority
